Most modern doors which have multi-point locking are either UPVC or Composite Doors. These doors and locking systems can provide excellent security when they are working correctly. When the door is slightly out of alignment, the lock won’t engage. This is often misdiagnosed as needing a new lock, when in some cases all that is needed is some adjustment of the hinges.

Something else to look out for is “floppy handle syndrome”. A floppy handle is a tell-tale sign that something is wrong with the locking mechanism or the handle. If you have a floppy handle, call us to get it fixed before something more serious breaks and you are unable to lock or unlock your door.
